The GK-12 program, formally Graduate STEM Fellows in K-12 Education, was an NSF program within the Directorate of Education. The program was designed to train science graduate students in teaching methods and science communication. Teacher and graduate student fellows were supported through GK-12. The graduate fellows brought their research activities into the classroom. The teachers got professional development opportunities. The high school students got an experience like none other.
